A worthy project, well planned, well executed. I am so glad that you have given Gimli this. Thanks!

Author Reply: And thank YOU for the kind words and nice review. :)

Lovely story. Did you ever wonder what became of
the great record book that Gandalf scooped up?
That would make a good story too.

Author Reply: Thank you, both for the compliment and the idea. I don't promise anything, though. :) I'll think about it, and maybe it'll take some time... and if things "click" in my mind, I'll write about it. :)

Author Reply: One more reply, 16 months later. I have no idea if notifications work, and I don't know if you'll ever see this. But if you do, I want you to know that things clicked. After 16 months. I'm writing a story about the Book of Mazarbul, and it is coming soon. :)

I think it's great that Gimli returned to Moria to perform this service on behalf of those who died in Moria. Perhaps one day, it'll be safe for his people to return there, but for now, he's right: it would be necessary to spill too much blood to set up a colony there once more, more blood than it would be worth. Perhaps eventually, though, it will be safe to do so, now that the Balrog is dead.

This is a great story you've written!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your compliment!

For him, they were persons; they were his people, they were brave and devoted, and behind each there was a life story, full of fighting and love for dwarvish heritage.

Yes. This story is very beautiful, and very moving. What a lovely idea for Gimli to have closure here.

Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words, dear.
